Around the world, human trafficking has stripped nearly 27 million people of their safety, dignity and liberty.

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, when we reaffirm our commitment to ending this inhumane and immoral practice in all its forms. As we bring perpetrators to justice, we renew our pledge to help survivors recover and rebuild their lives.

Tri-Cities Soroptimist Against Trafficking (TCSAT) is raising awareness of human trafficking in Washington’s Mid-Columbia region by educating the public, teaching prevention, and supporting local survivors.

Spearheaded by Soroptimist International of Pasco-Kennewick, area Soroptimist clubs including SI3R work together at the local level to raise awareness - along with the efforts of foreign governments, international organizations, anti-trafficking entities, law enforcement officials, survivor advocates, communities of faith, businesses, and private citizens all around the world.

TCSAT provides resources to our community that teach prevention, empower our youth, educate community members how to identify and help victims, and support survivors in finding and utilizing resources, such as the following examples on Teen Personal Safety Awareness.
